Hilary wishes that all children could be screened by pædiatric osteopath at birth. Alas there are not enough of us yet! However, so that children don't have to carry their birth strains with them into adulthood, Hilary and her team offers a free check up after birth and before six months of age. About 30% of children and babies need treating. We also take this opportunity to check out the mother - it really saddens me when a mother has ached in the lower back since little Joey was born. The health visitors in Clitheroe invite Hilary to talk to all mothers of new-borns. This takes place at the Health Centre every 6-8 weeks. This is another instance of good rapport between the Percivals and the Medical Centre. Hilary set up Saturday morning clinics for children once a month to allow children of school age to come from further a field (Glossop, the Fylde etc.).
